The story behind Leelapothecary

Lisa Leeland’s passion for beauty began at a young age while experimenting with makeup for fun. This interest deepened as she pursued education in theatrical makeup and later evolved into a short career working in bridal and entertainment makeup. Although her makeup career quickly expanded into acting and wardrobe styling for celebrities, her passion for beauty never faded.

Pure, natural ingredients have always been at the heart of Lisa’s philosophy. She believes there is deep value in using the resources the earth provides—ingredients that nourish, heal, and honor the body. Lisa is a strong advocate for self-care, self-compassion, and empowerment, believing these qualities allow women to truly radiate and shine.

In a fast-paced world saturated with digital screens and unrealistic standards, Lisa is passionate about setting a healthy, affirming example for women and girls: that we are beautiful just as we are. Finding balance—between beauty and well-being, intention and simplicity—is essential.

Leelapothecary was born from these values, with the understanding that time and budget are real considerations in everyday life. Living in Los Angeles and working as a creative, Lisa didn't always have the resources for expensive skincare products or lengthy self-care routines. Working multiple jobs often meant finding simple, effective ways to care for herself without sacrificing time or quality. What began as a practical solution eventually grew into a passion project she wanted to share with others.

  • Products are made to order so recommended usage time is 6 months from opening.

  • I use Plant Therapy.

  • Yes! Please do! I encourage you to wash the jar first with soap and water and then let it soak for at least an hour with water and white vinegar. This will remove any lingering essential oil smell. You can repurpose it for anything you like or simply throw it in your recycle bin. Our goal at Leelapothecary is to keep as much plastic out of the landfill as possible!

  • At Leelapothecary, I try my very best to reduce the amount of leakage in transit, but unfortunately some leakage is unavoidable due to elevation changes and rough handling. I assure you, the product is still usable and fabulous!
